  • Utilize Microsoft Access or other database application(s) to identify revenue cycle metrics and trends across multiple hospitals
  • Act as subject matter expert in key revenue cycle metrics such as DNFB, clean claims, late charges, cash forecasting, denials, etc.
  • Create, develop and maintain datasets holding key revenue cycle information for analysis; manage datasets and ensure accurate updates and quality assurance
  • Develop and provide regular reports, dashboards, and metrics to management
  • Analyze and research reason(s) for changes in key revenue cycle metrics
  • Based on analysis and research, brainstorm potential solutions to address negative performance metrics (where applicable) and collaborate with subject matter advisors in the identification and implementation of appropriate solutions
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with Patient Access, Health Information Management and Patient Financial Services stakeholders to review Key Performance Indicators
  • Coordinate with Finance and other organizational leaders regarding hospital performance
  • Track the resolution of all issues discussed at weekly review meetings
  • Independently manage daily work and support special projects and ad-hoc research, analysis, and reporting requests
  • Escalate issues for management for guidance and support
  • Comply with and adhere to all regulatory compliance areas and policies and procedures
  • Complete and/or attend mandatory training and education sessions within approved organizational guidelines and timeframes
  • Escalate issues, concerns, and/or other items to leadership as appropriate
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel, Access, Tableau, and/or other database and analytics software, including table management, query design, and data importing and exporting
  • Understanding of revenue cycle metrics on overall organization financial performance
  • Flexible approach to data gathering, with highly detailed and organized approach to data storage and analytics
  • Independent worker able to prioritize work to meet the needs of the organization and deliver regular and ad-hoc research, analysis and reports in a timely manner
  • The ability to communicate clearly
  • Basic understanding of financial analysis and statistics concepts
  • Ability to present data to support findings, including QA and data validation
  • Ability to clearly communicate findings verbally or in written presentations
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle and business office procedures
  • Highly detail oriented and well organized; ability to multitask
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Education: Bachelor’ s Degree in Health Information Management, Business or Health Administration preferred
  • Experience: Previous experience with patient accounting and/or contract management systems
  • Certification/Licensure: N/A
  • Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office suite; Tableau; specific Cerner experience a plus
  • Other: SQL experience
